If you live and work in Notion, customizing your workspace with widgets so that it feels like your own personal space is one of the best ways to enhance your daily work setup.
Here’s a short guide on how to add Spotify to Notion, so you can embed a Spotify player directly within a Notion page or database entry.
NOTE: Many templates embed Spotify in Notion as an aesthetic way of customizing your workspace. However, when you embed Spotify in Notion, there is limited functionality, and you will only be able to listen to 30 second clips of songs.
One alternative to embedding a Spotify playlist is to embed an Apple Music or SoundCloud playlist instead.
How to add a Spotify playlist to Notion
Adding a Spotify playlist to your Notion page is quick, and it doesn’t require any setup or custom code.
Step 1: Open the Spotify app or website and find the playlist you want to embed
Step 2: Click the three dot menu, hover over “Share,” and click “Copy link to playlist”
Step 3: Paste the link into Notion and click “Create embed” in the popup menu
Step 4: Hover over the embed, and drag the handlebars to resize it to fit your page
And that’s it! Now you have a custom Spotify player directly inside of your Notion workspace. You can click Play and listen to your favorite music and go back and forth between songs.
Note on advanced settings for Spotify embed: As you follow this process, you might notice that there is also an option to click “Embed playlist” after you hover over the Share button in Spotify. This menu allows you to select other options like the color and size of the embed and copy a custom code snippet to embed the Spotify app in other apps. Unfortunately, when you copy and paste this snippet into Notion, you will lose the additional formatting options.
How to embed a Spotify artist or album into Notion
In addition to adding a Spotify playlist to Notion, you can also embed the link to a specific album or to a specific artist’s page. The process is the same except instead of clicking “Embed playlist,” the button will say “Copy link to artist” or “Copy Album link.”
Step 1: Open the Spotify app or website and find the playlist you want to embed
Step 2: Click the three dot menu, hover over “Share,” and click “Copy link to artist” or “Copy Album link”
Step 3: Paste the link into Notion and click “Create embed” in the popup menu
